This region of Virachey National Park is known for its many divergent streams from the Tonle San River, known locally as Se San, that have created many waterfalls. While the 2-day will have you swimming at the base of one, the longer treks will have us camping out! If “fall asleep at the base of a waterfall” isn’t on your bucket list, then perhaps you should reassess your life goals.

The other unique aspect of this trek is, of course, visiting a remote minority village. The people of Kachok live without electricity, and there are no main roads connecting their village to modern civilization; the only way to get there is by boat. But since UNESCO shared their unique views on life, death, and their rituals surrounding these concepts with the world, they have become a cultural attraction for those willing to make the journey out. Will you be one of them?

Does this sound like the trek for you?
